National Symphony Orchestra - Amadeus at Kennedy Center Concert Hall

Why see National Symphony Orchestra - Amadeus?

The Genius of Mozart

Considered a biographical breakthrough, Milos Forman's 1984 period drama Amadeus celebrated the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and garnered an astonishing eight Oscars, four BAFTAs and four Golden Globes for its depiction of the prolific composer's life and work through the eyes of his rival Antonio Salieri. Experience the cinematic spectacle in the company of the National Symphony Orchestra, as Richard Kaufman leads them through a live accompaniment of a special screening of the film!

Mozart's best loved works punctuate the thrilling paradoxical relationship between Italian composer Salieri and Mozart. Able to recognise the magnificence of the young composer's musical gift and his own inferiority, Salieri vows to destroy him. Moving between past and present, Amadeus paints a very personal sonic portrait of the man behind some of the greatest music ever created, successfully conjuring the witty, self-assured and manic personality revealed in Mozart's letters.
