Why See Washington National Opera - The Barber of Seville?
FIGARO, FIGARO, FIGARO!
For the first time since 2009, Washington National Opera stage Rossini's quintessential operatic triumph! A gloriously uproarious comedy, The Barber of Seville is the perfect entry point for newcomers with a fizzing score that includes the timeless Figaro's Aria and many more recognisable standards to hum along to.
The story follows Figaro, the Barber of Seville and a self-made match-maker! His latest project is to ensure he can sprit away the beautiful Rosina to wed Count Almaviva, much to the dismay of her guardian Dr Bartolo who wants to marry her himself. Will love win the day, or will Figaro's cunning plans fail? Either way, it's a highly entertaining ride!
